Interview to Henri Pescarolo

Hello! Today the interview is to Henri Pescarolo, the owner of Pescarolo Sport team, of Le Mans Series. This driver was in Formula 1, with 1 podium and 1 fastest lap in 56 races, in 1968, 1970-1974 and 1976. He raced with Matra, Williams, March, BRM and BS Fabrications.

Here are the interview:

1) – How started your passion by racing cars

Very late I was student in Medicine and I had the opportunity to start racing with the first promotional formula in France. The “coupe des province” on Lotus 7. That was in 1964.

2) – In your opinion, what was the best moment in your motorsport life? Why?

All the Matra period from 1965 to 1974. Because we started all together on the lowest level, to finish at the highest. F1 and LE MANS.

3) – In your opinion, what was the worst moment in your your motorsport life? Why?

My crash in the Hunaudière in 1969, because I was nearly dead, and because that stop my season for 4 month in the hospital.

4) – What is the driver (or drivers) that you like most in the tracks?

Clark, Hill, Beltoise, Cevert and now my actual drivers.

5) – How is the atmosphere in Le Mans 24 Hours? Can you explain what you have felt when you won the race?

Difficult to explain that was the result of 10 years effort and fight with Matra.

6) – What is/was the biggest dream in your motorsport life? And what was the biggest dream/objective in you motorsport life that you never had the opportunity to achieve?

To became F1 world champion.

7) – Can you leave a message for your fans?

Still alive and fighting like mad!
